Nauiyu Community Works
Across Country Construction (ACC) are proud to deliver the refurbishment of the Nauiyu Community Store and the Store Manager’s Residence following extensive flood damage.
Located in the remote community of Nauiyu in the Northern Territory, the projects required more than construction expertise. They demanded detailed planning, reliable logistics and strong coordination to overcome the challenges of working in a remote environment. From organising freight and materials to managing specialist trades, our team worked closely with Outback Stores, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure every stage of the refurbishment was delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Community Store Refurbishment
The Community Store began with a complete internal strip-out, allowing the building to be assessed and prepared for reconstruction. From there, the store underwent a full transformation, including the installation of new internal wall and ceiling systems, commercial flooring, waterproofing and tiling, painting, cabinetry, kitchen reinstatement, plumbing and electrical services, security upgrades, and external building improvements.
The successful delivery of the Nauiyu Community Store refurbishment attracted recognition beyond the project itself, with ACC's work featured in the NT News. The feature highlighted the team's commitment to delivering quality construction outcomes in remote communities and showcased the scale and complexity of the refurbishment.
The completed Nauiyu Community Store now provides a modern, functional and reliable facility that will continue to serve the community for years to come. The project reflects ACC's capability to deliver complex remote construction projects while reinforcing our commitment to supporting regional and remote Australia through practical, high-quality building solutions.
Store Manager’s Residence
The Manager's Residence underwent a complete internal strip-out before being fully refurbished to provide a modern, functional and comfortable living space. Works included new flooring, fresh internal painting, a fully renovated bathroom with waterproofing and tiling, a new kitchen with custom cabinetry, and upgrades to plumbing and electrical services throughout.
Delivered alongside the Community Store refurbishment, the project required careful coordination of trades, materials and logistics to meet the demands of a remote location. The completed residence now provides high-quality accommodation, supporting the long-term operation of the community and reflecting ACC's commitment to delivering durable, practical building solutions in remote Australia.
