Moolooloo Station Project

Manager’s Residence

Across Country Construction (ACC) recently completed a bathroom renovation and flooring upgrade at the Moolooloo Station Manager's Residence, delivering a modern, functional space designed to withstand the demands of remote living.

The project included the installation of new flooring throughout the entire home, creating a refreshed and cohesive finish. A key focus of the works was the complete transformation of the bathroom, where the existing layout featured a separate toilet and limited usable space.

To create a more practical and spacious design, our team completed a full demolition of the existing bathroom, removing internal walls to open the area into a single, well-designed space. During demolition, extensive water damage was uncovered, with sections of the floor and wall sheeting requiring replacement due to rot. Years of exposure to the station's water supply had also resulted in significant visible calcium build-up throughout the bathroom, prompting the installation of new plumbing fixtures and fittings as part of the refurbishment.

Structural upgrades formed an important part of the renovation, with new floor support beams installed before a durable concrete sheet flooring system was installed to provide a long-lasting foundation for the new fit-out.

The bathroom was completely reconfigured to maximise space and functionality. The toilet was relocated into the main bathroom, the shower was repositioned, and a new bathtub was installed, creating a modern layout that is both practical and visually appealing.

The completed works have transformed the Manager's Residence with a contemporary bathroom and new flooring throughout the home, providing a durable, functional solution built to meet the demands of everyday station living.

School House

Across Country Construction (ACC) recently completed the renovation of the bathroom within the Moolooloo Station School House, transforming an outdated and impractical space into a modern, functional bathroom better suited to everyday use.

The existing bathroom had been affected by ongoing water leaks and significant calcium build-up within the plumbing system, resulting from the station's water supply. Combined with a cramped layout, the space no longer met the practical needs of the school house.

To create a long-term solution, our team completed a full demolition, stripping the bathroom back to its shell to allow the condition of the building to be assessed and prepare the space for reconstruction. The renovation centred around improving the layout by relocating the toilet into its own dedicated room, creating a more practical and functional design for a shared school house environment.

Achieving this required extensive structural and plumbing modifications. Our team enclosed an existing hallway and doorway to create the new toilet room, while concrete cutting works were undertaken to relocate underground plumbing and install the new sewer and water services required for the revised layout.

With the structural works complete, the new bathroom was brought to life through a complete internal fit-out, delivering a spacious, modern and durable facility designed to withstand the demands of remote station living.

This project is another example of ACC's ability to deliver practical renovation solutions, combining thoughtful design with quality workmanship to improve the functionality and longevity of buildings across regional and remote Australia.
